All's Okay.

Hi world! I just wanted to pop in to make sure to tell everyone, we're fine. We've had two days of tornado threats, but we're completely okay.

Monday, the sirens went off, and there was a funnel cloud spotted just south of base. Nothing ever touched down - our plastic chair didn't even blow away.

Tuesday, we didn't even get much weather. All the tornados were south and east of here. They were predicted to come up for a visit, but never did. We were ready, with axes, helmets, blankets, water, and all the other essentials - but never had to take shelter.

Calvin quickly found his new hiding spot - when he wasn't allowed in our room to go under the bed.

There were some pretty devastating tornadoes about 50 miles south of us, and 35-40 miles southeast of us. It was pretty terrifying to watch, and very sad to see the people coming out of what used to be their home and was now just a pile of wooded beams ten yards from the foundation. So if you can spare a thought, prayer, or just a little love to my fellow Oklahomans, I'm sure they would appreciate that.

Cold Feet

To put into perspective just how wet the OKC Memorial Marathon was...

It started at 7am Sunday. I put on my shoes at 5pm Monday, and they were still soaked.

11th Annual OKC Memorial Marathon

I forgot to tell you guys, I ran the OKC Memorial Half Marathon on Sunday.

I had all good intentions on writing up a nice long, mile by mile account, of how I felt, what was going on, etc.

But it rained. And hailed. And it was barley 45 degrees. And the wind was close to tornado. And there was thunder (and not just the bballers).

So instead, I just set my mind to finishing and getting dry.

I will say this though. The 168 seconds of silence for the lives lost in the OKC Bombing were moving. I've never felt silence so loudly. It was phenomenal.

Even worth the cold, wind, and rain.

Green.

I've been trying my hardest in branching out from my usually navy and white uniform. I really have. Well, trying as hard as I can with no clothing stores within and hour and a half of my house. But I've been pulling out some of the forgotten articles in my closet. Some coral here, a little turquoise there. And some Kelly Green.

Please excuse the filth, grime, and dust that has encased my mirror. As well as the fact that there is, in fact, a present for a friend on my dresser. And they hair would not stay out of my face long enough to find myself in the viewfinder of the phone and look back up.

But I'd say the green is a welcome addition. And check out those shoes. Little girls section at Target. Talk about good fortune. Love them. I'll admit, I've been on the hunt for a pair of wedges since noticing that in every other picture of her, my fashion icon, The Duchess of Cambridge, is sporting a pair. Yes, I am not ashamed to admit it. If Kate will wear it, I probably will too.

This is not because of my slight obsession. It is actually because I LOVE her style. But thank you dear obsession for allowing me to realize how fabulous her style is.

And if I were sending this picture to my sister in a text, the subtitle would be "Shirt: J. Crew, Sweater: Gap, Jeans: Levi, Shoes: Target." Yes we are nerdy enough to send each other outfits. Do you do that?

Monday Workday.

This is how I work. Yes, I have the Duchess of Cambridge as my desktop background. Back off, I'm obsessed.
