Big News Part Uno

Thanks to my procrastination, and hectic life, I did not get to give you the big news last week. So now I have two big news's to share with  you. One today and one tomorrow.

And a third right now. This one is actually not a Good Big News. For those of you who are familiar with her past, my mom is back in the hospital with more intestinal issues. She had emergency surgery Saturday night after having lots of stomach pains and nausea all week.

They were able to fix what had caused the emergency, but we never get good news after these surgeries. The scar tissue from each one will most likely cause the same thing to happen again. And this time, they found the original issue is happening again, so she will need more surgery. Not sure when yet.

So like I said, we never get good news when she has surgery. However, the good news IS that she is okay. She was able to get to the hospital in time. The surgery was successful. She is recovering. And for those of you who know my mom, you know she is a tough cookie and will bounce back.

She is recovering still, it'll be a long road, and that trip includes another surgery. So please, please keep her in you thoughts and prayers, because she is amazing. Thanks.

Now, later this afternoon comes the first of the two GOOD BIG NEWS posts. Get ready.

Dear Grandma Blog Readers,

I promise, I have not forgotten about you. I have been busy. With strep throat. And no husband.

The good news is all our stuff was delivered today. And thanks to a marathon of Sarah's House stored on my DVR, our kitchen is completely unpacked, clean, and ready to be lived in. I cannot tell you how good it feels to be able to pour my chicken noodle soup into my designated soup bowl, grab a non-plastic spoon from the drawer and curl up on the couch with Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda.

Expect a few "during" shots of our house in the next few days as I work on getting everything out of boxes.

Its cold, but only in my chest.

So, I am sick. Josephene (little girl I watch) has an ear infection. Christopher (her older brother) has chronic pneumonia. I have a cold. And maybe an ear infection too. It couldn't have come at a worse time either, well unless it came around July 3 last year. We have friends in town from Iowa, Matt and Katie, and their dog Manny. Duke and Manny have been wrestling and patrolling the backyard nonstop since they all got here on Saturday. Jon and Matt have been playing a lot of video games. Katie and I have been watching a lot of movies. Calvin has been hiding beneath our bed. I feel bad that I'm not up for more than that. At least Duke is exhausted by 7pm, which means mom gets to cuddle with her puppy.
